New Food Waste Collection Drop-off Site is Now Open at Mills Park

Composting just got more convenient for Cary citizens with the opening of a second food waste recycling drop-off site located at Mills Park, 425 Mills Park Dr. Check out carync.gov/foodwaste for more information on our new drop-off station and to see what items are acceptable for composting.

Black History & African American Appreciation Month 

Come celebrate Black History & African American Appreciation Month in Cary throughout February. Events and programs will be hosted at various venues around town that will lead you on a journey of Acknowledging the Past while STREAMing into the Future. (STREAM is an acronym for science, technology, research, education, arts, and music). We’re hosting concerts, symposiums, art exhibitions, and food tastings. Cary Downtown Farmers Market

Downtown Cary Park, 9 a.m.

Join the Cary Downtown Farmers Market at its new permanent location on Park Street next to Downtown Cary Park! Each Saturday, you will find a wonderful lineup of vendors offering all locally-made and locally-grown items. Shop for freshly-harvested produce, handmade local food, and artisan-made goods. Stop by the info booth to learn about their matching program for SNAP/EBT. Children can also get their very own Farmers Market Passport and participate in the Eat-A-Rainbow program, which encourages children to eat healthy, nutritious foods. Marvelous Music Family Series: Triangle Wind Ensemble presents “Music in Motion”    

The Cary Arts Center, 3 p.m. 

This energetic and interactive children's concert will get everybody dancing to the beat! The entire family will have the opportunity to participate, learn about different instruments, and explore the ways in which music can inspire movement, communication, imagination, and emotion. "Music in Motion" will take you on a journey of music old and new, of music from the U.S. and from around the world, and of music that includes classical, pop, film, and more.
