Cary, N.C. – Join us as we light up the night in Downtown Cary on Wednesday, December 13 for Cary’s annual Menorah Lighting ceremony. The event will take place on the Old Library site at 310 S. Academy Street from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Cary has partnered with Beth Shalom congregation, Jewish Federation of Greater Raleigh, and Chabad of Cary for a special celebration on the seventh night of Hanukkah with treats, kids activities, and holiday music for all to enjoy. Cary At-Large Councilmember Lori Bush and Rabbi Yisroel Cotlar of Chabad of Cary will perform the lighting commemorating the seventh night of Hanukkah.

This event is part of Cary’s Heart of the Holidays season of celebrations, bringing Downtown Cary alive with the spirit of the season through twinkling lights, seasonal sights, and festive events.

To accommodate the event, S. Academy St. will be closed between Dry Ave. and Park St. from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Parking on Academy St. and at the Old Library Site will be unavailable during those times. Instead, visitors are encouraged to make use of the downtown parking deck on Walnut St., the Waldo St. lot behind First United Methodist Church, or at Cary Elementary School. Drivers are asked to exercise extra caution when traveling in and around the area.
